Sales are already on at the Awka Millennium City Development Company
Limited, as the M-P Infrastructure limited has officially handed over
and transferred key take-off assets to the company.
The handover ceremony which took place at the Awka Millennium City
sales and marketing office at No fifty Ifite road, Awka, attracted
government functionaries, traditional rulers, Captains of industry,
among others.
The Awka Millennium City is a proposed luxury estate within the new
three-arms zone in Awka, with world class residential and recreational
facilities obtainable in global smart cities.
It is a Public Private Partnership project between the State
government and the M-P Infrastructure Limited, whose memorandum of
understanding was signed on the nineteenth of June, 2019.
Speaking at the event, Governor Willie Obiano who was represented by
the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu
said the Awka Millennium City project is an evidence that the
administration’s clarion call for ‘Aku lue uno’ is being heeded by Ndi
Anambra, and called on other wealthy Ndi Anambra in the diaspora, to
take advantage of wealth creation opportunities in the State.
The Governor assured that his government will continue to create an
enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state.
Earlier in his address, the Chief Executive Officer of M-P
Infrastructure limited, Dr. Clem Nwogbo, represented by Business
Development Director, M-P Infrastructure limited, Mr Chimmy Ogbuebule
noted that with the project, they hope to create real jobs and
business opportunities for indigenes of Anambra State, during and
after construction.
In his remark, the Managing Director of Anambra State Investment
Promotion and Protection Agency, Mr. Jide Ikeako commended the M-P
Infrastructure limited for outstanding commitment shown so far in the
project, reminding them that the State government and people of the
state expect that the project will be completed in a record time.
In their reactions , the Managing Director and Chief Executive
Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service Chief Uche Nworah, and his
counterpart at the Anambra Signage and Advertisement Agency, Chief
Jude Emecheta commended Governor Obiano for keying into the project
which they observed will be the best estate in the South East
geopolitical zone, in addition to providing residents of the State
with employment opportunities and good accommodation.
Also speaking, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of
Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Venerable Amaechi
Okwuosa, Reverend Father Patrick Okafor, Chief Charles Obidigbo, and
Mr. Collins Chikeluba called on Ndi Anambra and people from other
States to identify with the project.
