In the olden days, elders in various communities seek the face of their gods whenever they want to engage in any specific venture.
Activities that come to mind include rituals at the commencement of farming seasons or when preparing for celebration of new yam festivals, among other traditional activities.

But for sometime now, such acts appear to have been forgotten, due to civilisation and other interferences.
Over the weekend , some age grades in Aguleri decided to bring back their rich culture. The age grades are Mmgbadabuanu, Okpoke and Okanna age grades.
The event started with a visit to the Agbanabo Ezu na Omabala, by the age grades, who were initiated into Ndi Ichie and Ojiani Aguleri.The culture which the Aguleri World Forum is restoring, is to trace their culture and identity and to avert some ills facing the community.
The group was led by the Chief Priest of Ajaniukwu Ivite, Chief Mabueze Iverike Igwe.The community leaders led by Igwe Michael Idigo,
were also in attendance to witness Okpoke age grade get inducted into Ndi Ichie, just as the Okanna gets initiated into Ndi Ojiani.
The Chief Priest and other Heads of the community prayed for Governor Willie Obiano, other sons and daughters of Aguleri, especially for lasting peace to reign in the community.
Addressing Ndi Aguleri at Ama-Obugaa,the traditional ruler of Aguleri, Igwe Idigo, said Aguleri has a traditional way of governance as people of a particular age, like Ojiana will take up the affairs of the community and receive support from members of the community.
Also speaking , Chief Eddie Okoye, explained that they went to the river to seek their god’s approval, which they said is where their fathers came from noting that the biblical Gad, stopped at Ezunaomabala and entered the community to settle there, making the area a connection point between the people and their gods.
The Chairman of the Ojiana Aguleri, Chief Paul Onuorah , Chairman of Ndi Ichie Aguleri, Chief Epundu Okwunwanne and Stephen Dibua of Ojiana Uno ,said that they will continue to work and bring enduring peace to the community, calling on the youths to uphold the culture, norms and traditions of the community.
The event featured decoration of those inducted by Eze Christopher Idigo, masquerade display and other side attractions.
