The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Civil Service Commission, Establishment and Labour Matters has agreed to work with the Office of the Head of Service in driving the labour force for effective service delivery.


This was made known during a familiarization visit to the Head of Service, Barrister Harry Udu in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex Awka, by the committee members.


In an opening speech, the Chairman of the Committee and member representing Nnewi South Constituency II, Mr. Johnbosco Akaegboli unveiled their mission to include encouraging transparency and true service to Ndi Anambra.


In his remark, a member of the Committee and the Majority Leader, Mr.
Nnamdi Okafor reiterated that the oversight function is aimed at fostering effective service delivery to Ndi Anambra and not to witch hunt any one.


Mr. Okafor however encouraged the staff to fill free with the committee , promising that whatever service they need from the government through the House of Assembly would be provided to enhance effective performance.


Receiving the members, the Head of Service, Barrister Udu expressed satisfaction with the visit and described the committee’s oversight function as a welcome development and assured them of his readiness to work with them for the good of the state.
