Governor Willie Obiano will today declare open a two day Media summit, organized by the Anambra state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalist, NUJ.
The Summit with the theme, “Media Legislature and National Development,” scheduled to hold at the Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre Awka, will be attended by the Speaker, Anambra state House of Assembly, Honourable Uche Okafor as the Guest of Honour, while the Special Adviser to the Governor on political matters, Barrister Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, will chaired the occasion.
Other guests expected to attend the summit include, the former chairman, Standards Organization of Nigeria, SON, Dr. Ikem Odumodu, as well as a renowned Business Executive and Public Affairs Commentator, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, who will deliver the key note address.
According to a release signed by the Secretary of the Union, Mr. Emma Udeagha, the event which will be attended by members of the state House of Assembly, the National President of the Union, Chief Chris Isiguzo, National Secretary, Shuaibu Leman, Media Executives, Politicians, Academia among others will have the former Head of Department of Political Science, UNIZIK, Professor Frank Collins Okafor deliver a lecture.
The summit, being the third in its series, would generate blue print for improved government process in the state and country at large as well as provide a platform to recogniAnambra State Police Command says it has developed an operational order to cover the Ember Months.
The Commissioner of Police in the State Mr John Abang who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with ABS correspondent, Abuchi Nwozor at the police headquarters Amawbia said that the operational guide is a document that will enable the state police command achieve it’s set objective.
He said that all the Divisional police officers have been given the documents to assist them in drawing up their own operational order based on what the police headquarters in Amawbia has done and forward same to him to ensure harmonized policing in order to sustain the effective security network of the State.
Mr Abang who said that although Cultism is not peculiar to Anambra State the police command is committed to reducing it and other crimes and criminalities to the barest minimum adding that the command is partnering various Communities and sister security agencies in its activities to ensure that Anambra maintains its position as the safest State in the country.
The State Police Commissioner used the opportunity to call on the public to always give the police useful information that will aid them in their duty promising to treat such information with utmost confidentiality.
Mr Abang who commended Governor Willie Obiano for his support to the State Police Command through enabling equipment maintained that the command will step up it’s patrol in Awka the State capital and other parts of the state for enhanced security of life and property re-assuring Ndi Anambra of the commitment of the state police command to ensuring zero crime Ember Months.
