Governor Willie Obiano has approved the construction of some internal roads in Nsugbe community, Anambra East Council Area.
The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor announced this when members of Nsugbe Development Union Awka branch called on him in his office in Awka.
Works correspondent, Ngozi Obileri was part of the visit and reports that the group was led on the visit by the chairman, Nsugbe Development Union, Mr. Dubem Ibeme .
Addressing the group, Engineer Ifejiofor, who said that Governor Obiano is passionate about giving access road to all the communities in the state unveiled that work will commence on the roads as soon as the rains stop.
He gave names of the roads as Central School Road from Onitsha-Aguleri-Umueri-Nnado-Anaku Omor express road to Amumu junction, Monastery Road, St John the Baptist Catholic Church road through Ilo Ogwauari linking the Onitsha-Aguleri-Umueri Nando-Anaku-Omor Expresd road , Otu Nsugbe Road from the Express Road.
Others are Ugwu Asa road through Abba Junction, Igwe Ntoka road, Okikiizu- Gbulugbulu road.
The Commissioner also said that work had already commenced on Nsugbe-Nteje road, Akpaka Forest-Abata Nsugbe road, as well as Nwafor Orizu College of Education internal roads and many others across communities in the state.
Earlier while briefing the Commissioner on the aim of their visit, a member of the team, Engineer Austin Ekwealor, said they came to appreciate Governor Obiano and the Commissioner for what they are doing in the state especially the provision of infrastructure and appealed for speedy completion of the approved roads and more.
