Anambra State Police Command says it never banned the use of Tinted
glasses on vehicles.
The Commissioner of Police in the State Mr. John Abang who stated this
in an exclusive interview with Abuchi Nwozor at the command
headquarters Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area maintained
that as directed by the Inspector General of police, no police
personnel should stop any Motorist on the Local Road demanding for
tinted glasses permit.
According to him the Inspector General of police also warned various
State Command Commissioners of Police to ensure that personnel on stop
and search duty should not harass Nigerians based on Tinted glasses.
Mr. Abang said that he is already engaging officers and Men of the
State Police Command on series of lectures aimed at equipping them
properly on effective policing.
On the issue of Motorists covering their vehicle plate number Anambra
State Commissioner of police described it as criminal for one to cover
its vehicle plate number adding that anyone caught in that act will be
seriously dealt with.
He said that he has directed Men of the State police command to arrest
any body found driving vehicle with covered number plate.
Mr. Abang disclosed that the State Police Command is partnering other
sister security agencies to ensure crime free Ember Months.
He advised the public to always give the police useful information
that will aid them in their duty.
