To demonstrate that concerted effort needed for free flow of traffic on Anambra state roads, the state Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Christian Madubuko joined men of the Anambra Traffic Management Agency, ATMA, to manage traffic at the popular Arroma junction Awka, during the Nigeria’s fifty ninth Independence celebration in Anambra.
The Commissioner was spotted by the ABS at the junction, controlling traffic alongside men of the Anambra Traffic Management Agency, Police Force, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which prevented traffic-gridlock at the junction that leads to Dr. Alex Ekwueme square, venue of the event.
Speaking to the ABS, Commissioner Madubuko said that traffic management should be seen by the state residents as a collective responsibility and not a duty for only official traffic managers.
Dr. Madubuko warned defaulters of traffic laws in the state that the Ministry of Transport has fashioned out ways of handling them to ensure free vehicular movement in the state at all times.
The Commissioner called on Traffic Managers in the state to put in more effort in the discharge of their duties.
