Anambra State government says it will reposition tertiary institutions n the State through adequate funding.


The Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke stated this when the Management of Paul University Awka led by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Uche Isiugo-Abanihe, paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the Government House Awka.

The Deputy Governor while disclosing that the state has moved from the initial sixty percent position in WAEC and NECO examinations six years ago to seventy-five percent, said that the huge investment of the State government in the Education Sector is yielding positive results, which according to him, is evident in the exceptional performances of students in the state in both National and International competitions.


He said that such gesture will be replicated in higher institutions in the State in order to churn out graduates that will favourably compete with their counterparts world over.


Speaking earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Isiugo-Abanihe who commended the Obiano administration for the adequate attention giving to the education sector since inception, appealed for the help of the state government and good spirited individuals in the numerous challenges faced by the institution.
