The need for government at different levels to make education a
priority came to the fore when members of the old boys Association of
Archdeacon Dennis Junior Seminary, Obazu Mbieri Imo State, held their
twenty first year anniversary in Abuja.

Ekwi Ajide reports that various speakers at the event stressed the
need for all hands to be on deck to improve teaching and learning in
public schools.

The Anglican Bishop of Owerri Diocese, Right Reverend Chukwuma Opara
called on affluent individuals to subsidize education so that children
from poor homes can be educated.

For the President of the old boys Association worldwide, Professor
Victor Njoku, infrastructural development is catalyst for
socio-economic development of any nation.
On his part, Dr. Uche Egenti called on various governments to ensure
that the right people with knowledge of education are put in place to
man the sector.

He stressed that if government invests more in education, public
schools in Nigeria will begin to   nurture better graduates.
