The Bishop of Awka Anglican Communion and Archbishop Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has called on Christians to yield themselves to the control of the Holy Spirit in order to be true Christians and true children of God.

He stated this  in his sermon during confirmation and admission service for Mgbakwu Archdeaconry at Saint Stephen’s Church, Mgbakwu.The Bishop maintained that unless one is truly born again and yields him or herself to the control of the Holy Spirit, he cannot make heaven.He said that for one to be a true child of God, old things must pass away and new things must take place.

One hundred and sixty persons received the sacrament of Confirmation while eighty-one women and thirty-six men were admitted into women’s Guild and Fathers’ fellowship respectively.The service climaxed with the empowerment of four widows by the Archbishop and his wife, Martha, with the sum of fifty thousand naira each.The Vicar of Saint Stephen’s Parish Mgbakwu who is also the Archdeacon of Mbgakwu Archdeaconry, Venerable Christian Chinwuko, thanked the Archbishop and his wife for their doggedness in grass-root evangelism and prayed God to continue to bless and up-lift them and their ministry.
