The Member Representing Anaocha Two Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Ejike Okechukwu has enrolled one hundred women, mostly pregnant ones, into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme.
The event took place at the lawmaker’s country home Neni Aniocha council area.

Speaking to the ABS during the exercise, the lawmaker said it was a fulfillment of his campaign promises where he said pregnant women within his constituency would be given free medical services till their delivery.
Honnourable Okechukwu who promised that the exercise will be an annual event revealed that he had earlier given scholarships to some students in the constituency and provided some school equipment to schools assuring his constituents of an effective and quality representation.Â
The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi commended the lawmaker for the benevolence to his constituents and noted that what the lawmaker has done is a clear indication that the agency’s adoption model is resonating well among Ndi Anambra.
Dr. Onyemaechi appealed to other influential citizens of the State to key into the scheme, as governor Willie Obiano has set aside an equity fund for the scheme which is waiting to be tapped at all times.Â
Two of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Ogechukwu Okonkwo and Chioma Ikejiani praised the lawmaker for fulfilling his campaign promises to them and prayed God to bless and sustain him always.Â
