Anambra State government says it will embark on regular seminars and orientation for Herbal Medicine practitioners to ensure that they operate in line with the International best practices.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Indigenous Medicine and Herbal practice Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim who disclosed this in an interview with the ABS in Awka, maintained that the Obiano administration is committed to improving the services of Herbal Medicine Practitioners across the State.


He advised the public to desist from seeing herbal medicine practitioners as diabolical adding that the State government has concluded plans for an International Herbal Medicine Trade Fair in February 2020.


Dr Ibezim who said that the Trado fair which will last for three weeks and will take place at the premises of the Anambra Broadcasting Service in Awka.
He disclosed that as part of efforts to upgrade the performances of Traditional Medicine practitioners in the State while advanced Diploma Course in Indigenous Medicine and Herbal practice will soon commence at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam Campus.


Dr Ibezim who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Oxygen Plant, maintained that Governor Willie Obiano will continue to place priority on the effective health care services and urged Ndi Anambra to continue with their support to his administration.
