The Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) has called on
the government to build access roads and install modern security
systems along tourism destinations in Nigeria.
The organisation also called on the Federal Government to come up with
a national policy on cultural tourism which, it described as the most
competitive tourist product of Nigeria.
The President of FTAN, Alhaji Rabo Saleh, stated these in Abuja during
the fifth edition of the Nigeria Tourism Investors Forum and
Exhibition with theme ‘An insight into the legal framework of tourism
in Nigeria’.
According to him, state governments should map out tourist development
zones at the local government levels and provide tourist facilities,
such as access roads and facilitate acquisition of land for tourism
investors.
