The Anambra state government says it will continue to invest in the welfare of the citizenry.
The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, stated this during a church service at Saint Monica’s Anglican Church Enugu-Ukwu, in Njikoka Local Government Area.
Deputy Governor Okeke while speaking on the state government’s fulfillment of its promise towards helping victims of the recent Onitsha fire disasters to start life all over again, said that the gesture was aimed at cushioning the effects of the incident on the victims.
He reminded the people of the need to always give alms especially to those they are better than, in order to reap the blessings therein.
Earlier in a sermon, a visiting Priest, Reverend Canon Emmanuel Abanah, charged Christians to always show gratitude to God through thanksgiving, as according to him, the acts attract God’s blessings and open doors.
Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo reports, that renditions by the choir, prayers for the church members, Anambra state and Nigeria featured at the service.
