A two-day UNICEF end of the year review meeting has ended in Awka.
The meeting which was organized by UNICEF Enugu Zonal office attracted all the states under the zone including, Benue, Kogi and other five South-Eastern States.
Declaring the meeting open, the Permanent Secretary Anambra State, Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners, Mr Leo Imoka, expressed gratitude to UNICEF for its immense contributions towards the well-being of children especially in Anambra State.
He urged them to ensure full implementation of all the recommendations of the meeting which according to him will add more value to the developmental efforts of the various states.
Mr Imoka, reaffirmed that Anambra State government will continue to play its role in creating an enabling environment for development agencies in the State.
In a remark, the UNICEF Enugu Zone Chief of Field Office, Mr Ibrahim Conteh, explained that the essence of the meeting which is an annual event, was to assess the level of progress made in the outgoing year and prepare a framework for the year ahead with a view to improving in their programme implementation.
He commended the government of the various States for political will shown so far which he said has enabled them to achieve their set target.
