The second edition of Ebube Igbo Cultural Day Celebration has gone down in history as a remarkable day in the preservation of Igbo Language and Culture.


The festival initiated by the Ebube Igbo Association of Nigeria, is aimed at showcasing and celebrating the beauty of the uniqueness of Igbo people.



Igwebuike Primary School field, Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area was a serenade of the different indigenous dishes, masquerades, and dance, of Ndi Igbo.


Ebube Igbo Association of Nigeria is a Community based socio cultural and Non Governmental Organization founded to promote the values, norms, mode of dressings and unification of Ndi Igbo, breaking the walls of dichotomy caused by dialect, distance or state delineations.


The different branches of the Association in the twenty-one Local Government Areas of State and representatives of the Association from the other six Igbo speaking States of the country were all in attendance with their dance troupes and peculiar local dishes.


The President and founder of the association, Chief Christopher Mbanu bemoaned the painful gradual extinction of Igbo Language and culture and the erosion of those values Igbo people are known for stressing that urgent action needs to be taken to salvage the ugly situation.


The Chairman on the occasion, Chief Innocent Okpalajiaku expressed satisfaction with the platform provided by the celebration and said that it will go a long way to call attention to the necessity for greater interaction between Ndigbo in Diaspora and those at home.
Special recognitions and awards to people who have contributed to the development and promotion of Igbo Language and Culture capped the Ceremony.
