Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors, Anambra State Chapter has staged a road show in Awka to sensitize the public against quackery and unprofessionalism in the system.


The sensitisation kicked-off from Paul University, Awka, and terminated at the Ministry of Lands, Awka.


The group which carried placards with inscriptions like “give position to those that have profession and trust in professionalism” noted that it was necessary for professionals to clamour for their right to land matters.


At the end of the awareness campaign the group later made a courtesy call to the Commissioner for land, Mr. Bonaventure Enemali.


Mr. Enemali who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Emenike Ezinando tasked them to uphold professionalism in their job by following due process and ensure best quality practices.


He called on them to uphold integrity which he said is necessary for their profession, adding that issue of double allocation can jeopardize their work.


Earlier during the visit, the Branch Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Mr. Justin Okaro, said that the importance of land in the affairs of Ndị Anambra cannot be over emphasized.


While describing land as a major resource needed by the people for all its major activities, Mr. Okaro affirmed the Chapter’s readiness to work with the Ministry in a bid to achieve its mandate of making land available to the government and people of the state.
