Aguleri Kingdom has conferred the Chieftaincy title of Okutalukwe Aguleri on an illustrious son of Enugwu-Ukwu, High Chief Austine Oguejiofor.

The Traditional Ruler of Aguleri, Eze Michael Idigo conferred the title on High Chief Oguejiofor who is the Executive Chairman of Rotech Energy Services, Ltd at Ama Igwe, Aguleri.

The ceremony marks the one hundred and twentieth Ovala Aguleri and Ovala Ovu Obi of the Community.

Colorful displays pervaded the scene and venue of the event which attracted people from various walks of life including government functionaries, traditional rulers, members of Aguleri royal cabinet, religious leaders, young and aged members of the Community and beyond, while various traditional music groups entertained the crowd.

The Traditional Ruler of AguleriĀ  Eze Idigo made the first traditional appearance and royal dance, led by okanga Eze.

Shortly after making the second appearance with the ofu Obi age grade, Igwe Idigo announced that the ovala Mark’s the beginning of a new year in Aguleri Ancient kingdom, appreciated Chief Oguejiofor for his numerous contributions in the Anambra and beyond, which prompted the chieftaincy conferment.

For his part, Chief Oguejiofor appreciated the honour which he said means so much to him, coming from ancient kingdom of Aguleri, promising not to relent in doing good.

As for others who spoke to the ABS including the member representing Onitsha constituency two at the State House of Assembly, Mr Eddy Ibuzo, Mr Confidence Azodo, Miss Jessica Nweke of Rotech Energy Services, their foreign partners among others, when people are appreciated and honoured, it shows that people are watching.

Thereafter, guests were treated to a reception at Otuocha Township Stadium, Aguleri where traditional musicians entertained guests.
