Governor Willie Obiano has felicitated with Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim on his elevation as the Archbishop, Province of the Niger.


Governor Obiano made the felicitation during a thanksgiving service by the Archbishop at St. Faith Cathedral, Awka.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke while congratulating Most Reverend Ibezim on his new position, called on him to use the opportunity for more propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as for positive transformation of the society in general.


He restated the obligation of his administration to carrying all denominations in the state along saying that his government remains for all.


Earlier in a sermon, the Archbishop of Kaduna Province, Bishop of Wusasa Diocese, and Dean Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Ali Buba-Lamido reminded Christians of the need to collectively serve God, whom he said rewards every human work.


While charging Most Reverend Ibezim to remain faithful to God and always carry the flocks along for the propagation of God’s kingdom, and to the Members, Most Reverend Buba-Lamido advised the faithful to always support him.


In a remark, the Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Ibezim thanked God for his elevation and promised to use his new position to serve selflessly in the vineyard of God.


Rendition by the choir and cutting of celebration cake climaxed the thanksgiving service.
