Ndi Anambra have been urged to promote local tourism to further attract international investments.
Speaking in Awka, the National Chairman of Willie Obiano support group, Chief Jude Emecheta noted that the State has huge untapped tourism potential that would expand viable revenue generating windows.
Our man Paul Ezeoke reports that Chief Emecheta said that since various lakes, waterfalls, caves and museums in different parts of the State are rich and attractive tourism sites, residents of the State should visit with their families during holidays and weekends for sight-seeing to stimulate interests of other visitors and international tourists, noting that places like Dubai, Paris, Venice and London are reaping huge benefits from tourism.
He explained that in addition to accelerating development and revenue generation, tourism also provides wide employment opportunities that would help solve problem of unemployment.
Chief Emecheta pointed out that Governor Willie Obiano’s administration has already provided the effective security infrastructure and conducive environment for tourism to thrive, noting that with the mass return of Ndi Anambra during the last yuletide and crime free celebration, the State will record more influx of investors as more people continue to respond to the Governor’s Think-Home Philosophy.
He expressed satisfaction that the Governor’s strategic implementation of his vision on security, Agriculture and other pillars of development of his administration is yielding the desired goals with the State attaining self sufficiency in rice production and increased tempo of physical development.
Also speaking a Director of a Non-Governmental Organization, Prince Charles Ike-said the Governor’s zero tolerance for Crime has restored people’s confidence in governance and expand frontiers and prospects of investments.
Prince Charles observed that the State service industry is recording accelerated growth with world class hotels and event centres are springing-up in various parts of the State.
