Mixed reactions have continued to trail the Supreme Court verdict on Imo state gubernatorial election petition in which the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Chief Hope Uzodinma was declared winner and Governor Emeka Ihedioha sacked.

While reacting to the development, a medical Doctor, Onyebuchi Ile described the verdict as unfortunate saying that he did not know what the Supreme Court has as an evidence to back up its judgment despite the fact that Ihedioha had according to him won at two lower courts.

On his part, a legal practitioner, Barrister Michael Edeh said though he has not seen the full text of the judgment but believed the Supreme Court must have acted on the evidence before it. UPSOT Contributing, another legal practitioner, Barrister Kelechi Agbasiere and Mr. Sopuruchukwu Njurumoha said the verdict was unprecedented and unfortunate, regretting that it is the first time in the history of Nigeria the fourth position superseded others and came first, adding that new trends are being established every day in Nigeria judicial system.
