A DAF tanker with loaded with premium motor spirit (PMS) lost control and fell and it’s content spilled through the drainage at Omagba Phase Two by Lake Filling Station, along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway Onitsha.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Edwin Okadigbo said NSCDC personnel and other Sister Security Agencies moved to the Scene, cordoned off the Area and diverted traffic to prevent calamity and miscreants from taking advantage of the situation to loot or scoop the Spilled PMS.
According to Mr Okadigbo, Anambra State Fire Service were contacted and they responded efficiently, applied chemical in and around the truck and the drainage to prevent fire outbreak.
According to report, the situation has been brought under control, no loss of live and no injury recorded while obstructions were cleared to ensure free flow of traffic in the area.
