The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency FABDA, Mr Emeka Iloghalu says 2020 will be an eventful year for fisheries and Aquaculture business in the State.


Speaking in an interview with the ABS on the activities of the Agency, Mr Iloghalu said that Governor Willie Obiano has put every machinery in place towards the development of fishery industry in Anambra State.


Mr Iloghalu, listed key projects that will impact positively on the people to include the construction of a fish village across the three Senatorial Districts of Anambra State which will eventually cover the twenty-one local government areas.


The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency, maintained that the agency is currently wooing both local and foreign investors to come and invest in the fishery industry in Anambra State with a view to building a centre of excellence in Aquaculture business.


Describing Aquaculture as a lucrative business, Mr Iloghalu urged the people of the State to key into the initiative with a view to expanding their economy in addition to boosting the State’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP in fisheries and Aquaculture.


He disclosed that FABDA has created an organized private sector initiative for Fisheries and Aquaculture with a President in place who organizes other actors and stakeholders in an interactive platform.


Mr Iloghalu commended Governor Willie Obiano for his support and encouragement to the agency saying that part of the programmes being engaged by FABDA is the fishery academy where those that are willing to embark on fishery project will be enlightened.
