A town hall meeting for the installation of 132KV power transmission line that will pass through Nnobi to Nnewi has been held at Nnobi Town Hall, Idemili South local government area.
The meeting, which aimed at informing Nnobi people of the project through which Governor Willie Obiano plans to improve life was attended by the Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, his Education counterpart, Professor Kate Omenugha, and the Health Commissioner, Dr Vincent Okpala.
The team led by Engineer Ezenwanne was received by the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Nick Obi, the President General, Mr.
Felix Onwuka and other members of the community.
Addressing the gathering, Engineer Ezenwanne said that the present administration is poised to providing Ndi Anambra with basic amenities to improve their lives, security and enhance industrialization.
He disclosed that the transmission line when installed will improve power supply and reduce cost of diesel used for
street light, improve businesses and night life among others.
On her part, Professor Omenugha enumerated what Nnobi community has benefited from the Obiano administration.
For Dr Okpala, the installation has no health hazard but will bring improvement and development to the community as the fifteen meter gap distance to be given is for security.
The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Obi while describing it as a welcome development, commended Governor Obiano and Commissioner Ezenwanne and advised the committee set up for the project to speed-up actions.
Contributing, the chairman of Power Committee , Mr. Chike Okonkwo explained that power infrastructure is one of the present administration’s priority noting that on completion, power outage will be a thing of the past.
In their remarks, Mr. Onwuka and a stakeholder, Dr Mike Omenugha assured to be part of the project actualization.
The power installation which will pass through Obosi, Oba, Ojoto, Nnobi , Awka-Etiti, Otolo Nnewi, Utuh and Amichi has construction period of eighteen months.
