Aguleri community in Anambra East local government area has commended the Police Authority for commencing the Nigeria Police Institute for Finance and Administration project, Otuocha.
The community made their views known at a media briefing held at Aguleri Civic Centre.
The world media briefing attracted all the Presidents General of communities in Aguleri led by their National President, Barrister Hipolite Onwuegbuke, Ndi Ichie na Ojiani Aguleri, Umu Ikolobia Aguleri led by their President, Chief Nnamdi Adimora Ikeli among others.
Briefing the press on behalf of the community, the Co-Chairman Aguleri and Umueri Peace Committee, Chief Ralph Igwah, underscored the need for promotion of peace, unity and progress of Otuocha, the headquarters of Anambra East Local Government Area.
Chief Igwah expressed the belief that the entire area stand to benefit from the sitting of the project, adding that it is not for one particular town or the other, as it is on the communal land of two host communities of Aguleri and Umueri.
They used the occasion to call on the Nigeria Police Force, to maintain equity, Justice and fairness in matters relating to the project and the host communities.
The President General, Aguleri Community Assembly, Barrister Onwuegbuke said they have natural boundaries, stating that they will follow everything constitutionally to ensure that the existing peace and harmony put on ground by the Obiano led administration remained intact.
On his part the National President Of Aguleri Youth Forum, Chief Nnamdi Adimora-Ikeli maintained that days were gone when the youths were easily provoked, into quarrel, saying that, Umu Ikolobia Aguleri are known for peace and will not engage in anything unlawful.
In his remarks on behalf of Ndi Ojiani Aguleri, Chief Ikwune Ikeli commended their youths for toeing the path of peace, maturity and togetherness.
