A four-day state-wide immunization campaign against polio for children below fifty-nine months, embarked upon by Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, will end today.
Commenting on the exercise, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu thanked parents, caregivers and all stakeholders for join hands in making the immunization campaign a huge success, adding that schools, churches, mosques and other places where children are found were visited during the exercise.
Dr Ezenyimulu, who disclosed that the state government is ever ready to respond to health emergencies and give Ndi Anambra adequate healthcare services, added that the state government recently, organized Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week, where routine immunization were administered to children.
She explained that the latest immunization campaign is a timely response to circulating Vaccine Derived Polio Viruses, which broke out in Kogi State late last year.
