Work is to continue on the Igwe Nwakobi – Electrical Parts Market Road Obosi, Idemmili North Local Government Area.
The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor announced this while inspecting the road in company of the Managing Director of Tamad Construction Company, the firm that will handle the project.
Works correspondent, Ngozi Obileri was part of the team and reports that
the Directors and Engineers in the Ministry of Works, including the Permanent Secretary, Barrister Emeka Ohuoha were part of the entourage.
Speaking shortly after inspecting the road, Engineer Ifejiofor regretted that the road has deteriorated since the last time the contractor left the site, but assured residents of the area that the contractor would be mobilized to site next week.
He explained that work was delayed to enable the government make proper plans to avoid devastating effect of poor discharge points as the area is becoming highly populated.
Engineer Ifejiofor advised people of the area to exercise patience as they would soon heave a sigh of relief.
The Managing Director of the construction firm handling the project, Mr. Madi, assured that the road would be accessible before the rains set in proper.
The chairman Oduke Landlords Association, Mr. Nicholas Ugochukwu, expressed appreciation to Governor Willie Obiano for the visit, as according to him, they have suffered untold hardship on the road.
