The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations NIPR, has applauded the ongoing Nigerian Police Games held simultaneously at different locations in the state, saying the events no doubt will spark off speedy development of sports facilities in Anambra.


The member Governing Council of the institute Reverend Father Professor Boniface Obiefuna commended Governor Willie Obiano for his doggedness in ensuring that the games took place in the state hoping that after the events, Ndi Anambra will start using all the facilities to develop their career.


In his own reaction, the immediate past Council member of the institute Dr Dennis Ekemezie who is also a fellow of the Institute, said the Nigerian Police Games held simultaneously at different locations in the state has demonstrated the capacity of Ndi Anambra in relating hospitably with all irrespective of tribe, religion and political diversity.


He expressed confidence that more of such events in the state will inject billions of naira into the state economy.


For her part, the Interim State Chairman of the Institute Prof Stella Okunna, who is the first female Professor of Mass Communication, said the Nigerian Police Games has shown that Anambra is really the light of the nation and therefore charged all not to allow the light to extinguish.


She charged youths in the state to embrace emergence of different sporting competition in the games to develop their career.


Some other members of the institute who spoke include, Mr Chukwuanu Okagbue Director Public Relations Anambra state Polytechnic, Dr Ikenna Nwanolue, ICT officer of the Institute, among others.
