Onitsha, the Commercial nerve centre of Anambra State has witnessed
its first major rain of the year.
The rain which lasted for hours can be said to be peaceful as there
were no signs of lightening or thunder.
Some of the residents of the commercial city that spoke with correspondent Blessing Ijedibia expressed joy over the downpour.


Mr Ifeanyi Azikiwe  in his reaction said he had a sound night rest devoid of heat as
the downpour provided  cool and conducive environment while a retired
School administrator Mrs Josephine Okonkwo said  that the heat
wave occasioned by dust have been doused.


She expressed the hope that some sicknesses associated with heat and
dusty weather will be reduced drastically.
