Anambra State government has constituted a caretaker committee for Umuomaku Progressive Union in Orumba South Local Government Area.
The seven man committee which has Chief Eric Udoye as Chairman and Reverend Canon John Okafor as Secretary will run the affairs of the town for the next three months.
A release signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Chieftaincy, Town Union and Community Affairs, Mrs Vera-Queen Okonkwo says the tenure of the caretaker committee which commenced on twelfth of this Month will end on June twelfth 2020.
According to the release, the committee has reconciling the different factions in the community, restoring the spirit of oneness, putting in place a structure that will ensure and sustain peaceful co-existence in the area as well as preparing grounds that will pave way for the conduct of a credible Umuomaku Progressive Union election to be supervised by the Ministry of Local government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs as some of its terms of reference.
