The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Ike Oye has flagged off the revalidation, registration and presentation of new membership cards for members of the party.
Political Correspondent Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that Eziokpaligwe Square, Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area, witnessed huge turnout of the party faithful.
Addressing members of the party drawn from the three wards in Amawbia after revalidation of his membership, Chief Oye explained that the exercise is done every four years to ascertain the real members of the party and to create awareness about the progress of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Nigeria.
Chief Oye who called on the ward leaders of the party in one hundred and seventy seven communities in the state to move from house to house to revalidate members of APGA, urged members of the party to make themselves available for the exercise as it has been made free of charge.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for making the party proud through massive developmental strides in the state, citing example with the ongoing construction of Umueri City Cargo Airport project, the International Conference Centre in Awka among others.
On his part, the member representing Awka South Two Constituency, Honourable Chukwuka Okoye who also revalidated his membership, noted that the exercise which was initiated by Chief Oye will lead the party to breaking barriers and gaining more members.
He expressed his commitment towards ensuring that the revalidation exercise is replicated in all the wards in Awka South Two Constituency and commended the progress the party has recorded under Chief Oye.
