Ndi Anambra have been urged to explore emerging opportunities to accelerate development.
The State President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene who made the call in Awka, said there is need for collective efforts to consolidate the drive towards sustainable development.
PAUL EZEOKE reports that according to Chief Okeke-Ogene Governor Willie Obiano has set a template for comprehensive development of all sectors while the success recorded in the implementation of his pillars of development and the enablers is accelerating economic growth that would boost the State’s Gross Domestic Products-GDP.
He observed that the Governor’s agricultural policy is achieving the target of increasing and expanding the State’s capacity in rice production and cultivation of other crops while his rural development programmes are opening up communities across the State with the implementation of community choose your project initiative.
Chief Okeke-Ogene said in addition to security, the Obiano administration has equally entrenched social stability and harmonious co-existence by carrying everybody along irrespective of political affiliation and religious belief and commended the Governor for his commitment to the Igbo unions and associations.
Also speaking the Chairman Transition Committee for Awka South Local Government Area, Mr Leo Nwuba said the Governor’s human capital development has improved the living standards of the citizenry.
According to Mr Nwuba, the State Health Insurance scheme Initiated by the Governor has brought succor to many families and reduced burden of health challenges as people could now easily access quality and affordable health services in their various areas.
He urged privileged individuals to assist the less privileged to enroll into the scheme.
