As a proactive measure against the spread of Coronavirus, COVID-19, the Anambra State Government has directed all primary and secondary schools in the state to proceed on an indefinite vacation starting from Friday March 27, 2020 while all Tertiary Institutions owned by the State will proceed on an indefinite vacation from today , Friday March, 20, 2020.
All public gatherings have will also be banned in the State from Monday March 23, 2020.
This is according to the Public Health advisory by Governor Willie Obiano obtained by the Anambra Broadcasting Service, today.
All inter-house sports competitions are also suspended until further notice and the management of all schools in the state asked to compulsorily provide hand wash stations at entrance of all schools and ensure that all students and visitors wash their hands frequently with soap and water for at least twenty seconds, allowing their hands to air-dry as parents are advised to provide hand sanitizers for their wards.
It also asked School management to one of day Students, take the temperature of their day students and to take the temperature of their boarding students at least once every day as temperatures above thirty-seven point nine degrees Celsius must be reported to the nearest hospital.
The advisory also advised traders and Ndi Anambra who go to the markets to wash their hands frequently, with soap and water for at least twenty seconds and allow it to air dry while the use of hand sanitizers is strongly recommended if the hands are not visibly dirty.
It also discouraged hand shaking, hugging and all other forms of contact salutation while recommending that a distance of six feet should be maintained between customers and traders.
Leadership of the markets are advised to buy infra – red thermometer to test any cases of their member or customer falling sick in the market
