As part of measures to avert contraction of corona virus by Ndi Anambra, the member representing Ogbaru Two Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Honorable Somto Udeze, has embarked on a massive sensitization on the preventive measures against the pandemic.


Honourable Udeze during the sensitisation distributed sanitizers, other hand wash and sanitary materials for use at the markets, churches, health centres, among other public places within the constituency.


Correspondent Valentine Mbadugha reports that the aim according to Honourable Udeze was to compliment the efforts of the state government towards ensuring the safety of Ndi Anambra and in particular, the people of Ogbaru Two Constituency.


Among the places visited were, Afor Atani market, Basilica of Saint James the Great Cathedral Atani, Odo Rubber market Odekpe, Ahia Idemili Layout Odekpe, among others.


Addressing the people at the various markets and churches, Honorable Udeze, harped on the need to maintain total hygiene by using hand sanitizers provided at the designated places and washing of hands regularly with soap and clean running water.


He urged them to avoid body contact with people by maintaining social distance as directed by the government and reminded them of the barn against any gathering of people more than thirty by the Anambra state government.


Receiving the materials at Basilica of Saint James the Great Cathedral Atani, the Administrative Secretary of Ogbaru Diocese, Reverend Cannon Chigozie Obiwulu while commending Honorable Udeze for being proactive, pledged to support the state government at this critical time through prayers and sensitization.


On their parts, the Ogbaru Council Area, Director, Health Department, Mrs. Patricia Eze, and Miss Ufuoma Omeyuwa, who is a Corps member with Comprehensive Health Center Atani, took the people through the best practices as regards to the preventive measures against coronavirus.


Also speaking at Odo Rubber market and Ahia Idemili Layout Odekpe, the President General of Odekpe, Mr. Vincent Okei enjoined the people to adhere strictly to all the teachings of the health workers, and the directives of the state government and to make optimal use of the materials provided for their interest and that of the entire state.
