The Archbishop of Onitsha, Ecclesiastical Province Most Reverend Valerian Okeke has reiterated his charge on Catholic faithful to stay at home, as the state government has directed for their own good. 


Speaking to the ABS in an exclusive interview at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, Archbishop Okeke explained that staying at home is one sure way of preventing the spread of the dreaded coronavirus.


The Prelate, noted that, already, he has directed all Catholic churches in Onitsha Archdiocese to suspend weekday and Sunday masses in a bid to make people stay at home and avoid being in a crowd to enforce social distancing, as advised by the government.


While assuring all of his prayers, he restated that the priests have been mandated to be praying for the faithful in the private masses they will be celebrating and urged them to stay safe, so as to minimize the spread of Covid-19.
