The Anambra State government says any amount donated towards the prevention of Coronavirus in Anambra state will be judiciously utilized.
The Secretary to the state Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu stated this at the Government House, Awka, while receiving a cheque for two-million Naira from the Chairman and Managing Director of WINCO foam, Dr. Godwin Okafor, in support of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, by the state government.
Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that the WINCO Foam Managing Director, Dr. Okafor, represented by the company’s Administrative Manager, Mr. Samuel Oge-Iheoma, commended the sustained efforts the state government is putting in place to contain the pandemic and to be prepared in case of any eventuality, by setting up protection centres in different parts of the state.
He reiterated that WINCO Foam through its cooperate social responsibility is supporting the efforts of the state government in fighting the pandemic with the donation.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu had earlier commended WINCO foam for heeding the call of the state government for well meaning individuals and cooperate bodies to join hands with the state government in making sure that the rapidly spreading and dangerous virus is adequately prepared for.
Those present during the donation included the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor of the ABS and others.
The ceremony featured the official presentation and hand over of cheque to the state government.
