The Board of Directors of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka have donated Medical items to the Management of the hospital to safeguard their workers against COVID-19.
Health Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye covered the presentation and reports that Items donated were packets of gloves, infrared thermometers among others.


Presenting the items to the Teaching Hospital, the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Clement Idigo, represented by Professor Pascal Oguno who was the immediate past Dean, Faculty of Law, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, said that the exercise was borne out of the desire of the Board of Directors, to help protect and safeguard all medical officers working in the hospital against the novel COVID-19.


Dr. Idigo commended the Management and Staff of the hospital for their proactiveness and dedication to duty, urging them to sustain it for the betterment of Anambra State.


Receiving the items on behalf of the Management and Staff of the hospital, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Basil Nwankwo appreciated members of the Board of the hospital for their responsiveness, and assured that the items donated would be put to good use.


In his remark, the Anambra State Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Dr. Emma Muonagor who is a member of the Board noted that the Board is impressed with the level of preparedness and measures put in place by the Teaching Hospital against COVID-19 and assured that the board will always support it.


The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Radio, Television and Creative Economy, Dr. Marcel Manafa was also present during the presentation.
