Work has advanced on the Mgbakwu end of the ongoing reconstruction of Isuaniocha-Mgbakwu road, being funded by the Anambra State government. 

When ABS arrived the site, it was observed that the road has been asphalted close to the Tipper Garage axis of the road.
Casting of drainages on both sides of the road has gotten close to the Anambra state Polytechnic gate where the first phase of the construction work will terminate.


Men of Golden Fingers Construction firm handling the project were seen working on the drainages.


Speaking on the development, a resident of Mgbakwu Mrs. Chinyere  Ezeibe, said she could not believe that  bad road in Mgbakwu will be a thing of the past.


While  commending  Governor Willie Obiano for pushing through with construction of the road despite situation of things in the country presently, she also thanked the contractor for doing a quality job.
An indigene of the community Mr. Patrick Ewesiobi, explained that farmers in the area have heaved a sigh of relief as according to him, they have been provided access for evacuation of their produce to the urban centers so as to make better sales.


Mr. Ewesiobi urged the contractor to expedite action to ensure that the road is completed before the rains set in proper. 
On his part, the Managing Director of Golden Fingers limited, the firm handling the project Mr. Luke Aniakor, said they are bent on completing the work before the rains become heavy, regretting that the rains are their major problem now.


He said that state government has been consistent in releasing the fund for the project, adding that government may decide to extend the work to the stream end of the road to ensure proper discharge point for flood.
