Anambra State government palliatives to cushion the effect of the sit at home order due to Corona-virus pandemic have gained momentum, as Nkpologwu Community in Aguata Local Government Area have taken a cue by sharing food items and money to the vulnerables individuals within the Community.



No doubt the sit at home order to check the fast spreading Corona-virus pandemic is having biting effect on vulnerable people , who might find it difficult to feed and afford their basic needs.


To ensure that the situation does not degenerate to such level, well meaning individuals in Nkpologwu Community, pooled their resources to assist those most likely to be in need of it.


The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Moses Okpala, who supervised the distribution exercise, said that the gesture was borne out of brotherliness and love, to assist those who might feel the brunt of the lock down and called for prayers for Dr. Charles Nwobi and others for their kind gesture , backed with action.


The Chairman of the community COVID-19 intervention Committee, Mr. Joseph Ezeaku explained that the pitiful condition caused by the lockdown over Corona-virus , necessitated the intervention which benefitted two hundred and sixty persons who received bags of rice, yam, noodles and soap to encourage hand washing.


The President-General of the Community, Professor Romanus Ezeokolonkwo pointed out that it is important that the items and cash get to the people it was meant for, as the town union has become part of the process to make it transparent.


Represented by the Secretary-General of the town union, Mr. John-Mary Anyaora, Professor Ezeokolonkwo commended the people of Nkpologwu both within and in the diaspora for the gesture while a village representative, Mr. Ifeanyi Onochie said they are also using the opportunity to educate the people on the needful to prevent Corona-virus noting that those who brought about the gesture have written their names in gold.
Some of the beneficiaries, who could not hide their joy, including Messrs Godwin Ezeudu and Chukwukamma Obinali, thanked and prayed for those behind the gesture saying that they are also taking precautions in the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic.
