Bishop Ibezim Urges Christains To Remain Firm In Faith
The Anglican Archbishop of the Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has called on Christians not to waver in their faith as they celebrate Easter amidst COVID-19 menace.

Archbishop Ibezim in his Easter message noted that Christians are in a period when their faith is tested with the coronavirus pandemic and charged them to see this year’s Easter, as a time of renewal and awakening of their faith in God.

The Archbishop urged Christians to celebrate a blessed Easter with social distancing and cleanliness as their watchwords, adding that even if the Churches are empty, Christians are with Jesus Christ, in spirit and prayed that the world shall overcome the deadly disease.

Archbishop Ibezim further said that since Palm Sunday, Diocese of Awka has been worshipping God through technology, and made it clear that though methods of worship may change, messages remained the same which is that Jesus is Lord and that he paid the ultimate sacrifice laying his life down for his people.

He appealed to governments at all levels to ensure access to healthcare and social protection for everyone and most importantly ensure transparency in sharing the stimulus packages to the people by also involving the religious leaders.

The Archbishop said that the pandemic has taught leaders, particularly political leaders to rise to the challenge of promoting unity and a shared responsibility for a better life for humanity in all the countries of the world.

The Prelate appreciated all those who put themselves at risk for the treatment of others even victims at a time like this, describing them as heroes and heroines of the time and wished Christians a blissful Easter celebration.
