The Territorial Commander Nigeria Territory of the Salvation Army Church, Colonel Victor Leslie has charged Christians to be expressive in their love towards others by showing compassion and kindness to one another this Easter and always.
Colonel Leslie gave the charge in his Easter message to Nigerians, contained in a release signed by the Territorial Envoy Nigeria territory Salvation Army church Dr levi Monanu, who is also the Vice Chairman Christian Council of Nigeria, South East zone.
According to Colonel Leslie, though the dreaded covid -19 has stunted all activities the world over, and dampened Easter celebrations, Christians should be guided by their hope and trust in God whose great mercies have made them born again in the lord.
Colonel Leslie advised them not to be distracted by the deceits planted by Satan to instill fear and panic among children of God but rather to reminisce on the resurrection power of God on Easter as it has brought freshness and newness to life by conquering the grave.
He said that the Salvation Army church is committed to ensuring the well being of their members by freely giving food, sanitizers, educational resources as well as medical support to the less privileged ones.
The territorial commander also called on them to continue to obey government’s directive of observing social distancing, washing their hands regularly with soap and water, making use of hand sanitizers and to stay at home for them to stay alive.
While wishing all a happy Easter celebration, Colonel Leslie stressed the need for fervent prayers in order to attract the attention of God to the difficulties faced by the people on account of COVID-19 pandemic.
