The Member Representing Onitsha South Constituency One in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Uzoma Eli has presented relief materials to the ten wards under his constituency.
The materials included over three hundred cartoons of noodles, tubers of yam and bags of rice.
Presenting the items, Honourable Eli said that the aim was to cushion the effect of COVID-19 on his constituents.
He charged the ward Chairmen to ensure that the materials are evenly distributed to all the beneficiaries.
While encouraging the people to continue to maintain best hygiene practices to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus, Honourable Eli commended their level of compliance to the State government’s directive on coronavirus, just as he assured them of adequate representation.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Onitsha South One, Chief Linus Ejiofor and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Chuks Onyeizugbe thanked Honouable Eli for accommodating them in the exercise and urged him not to relent in his leadership style.
The personal Assistant to the Lawmaker, Mr Miracle Izunegbu commended the lawmaker’s magnanimity and thanked the people for being law abiding.
Mr Izunegbu urged the people to exercise patience as the COVID-19 pandemic will soon be contained to enable them go about their normal businesses.
The Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA in Fegge Ward Seven, Sir Peter Madueke advised the people to accept the relief materials in good faith and thanked the lawmaker for his support during this trying moment.
