Media practitioners, have been charged to feed the people with the
right information on the best practices, to be able to curb the spread
of the coronavirus pandemic.

The charge was given by some stakeholders in the media industry during
an ABS Television audience participatory program, Good Morning
Anambra.

Describing media practitioners as information managers and people that
render essential services, a guest during the program and also the
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Broadcasting
Service, Chief Uche Nworah, regretted the adverse effects of
misinformation.

He called on media practitioners, both on social and traditional media
to abide by the professional ethics of journalism by feeding the
people with the proper and accurate information on the updates of COVID-19 as well as the best practices that will assist both the
government and individuals in the fight against the Pandemic.

Chief Nworah also advised the citizenry to at all times trust
reliable and credible sources like Anambra Broadcasting Service and
other credible social and traditional media for accurate information
especially at this time the world is facing difficulties due to the
pandemic.

Contributing, another guest and a media consultant, Mr Don Onyenji,
commended the media for their contribution so far in the fight against
the spread of coronavirus in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.

He advocated better welfare package for the media personnel, especially good  working conditions, facilities for effectiveness and efficiency and
better treatment by the general public among others.

Mr Onyenji further commended the Anambra state government for allowing the media a level playing ground to operate, calling on all media
practitioners to step up in their duties as information remains a
vital element in human existence.
