In the face of the economic challenges faced by Ndi Nsugbe as a result of the lockdown order by the state government, individuals and groups in the community have continued to provide food, cash and medical items to the people of the area.
Latest in the series of donation to the community is distribution of about fourteen million naira worth of food items by an illustrious son of the community, Mr Chinedu Emorh, Popularly known as KC Emorh.
The distribution exercise took place at three locations in the community.
Items distributed by include bags of rice, beans, onions, tubers of yams and cartons of noodles.
Each of the ten villages were given their own share of the items and two hundred thousand each.
Youths from each of the ten villages were equally given cartons of noodles with fifty thousand naira cash which they shared in their various villages.
Otu Ezeh Nsugbe prestigious society which is the highest decision making body in the town were not left out as Mr Emorh donated three hundred tubers of yam and a cash of three hundred thousand naira to them.
Addressing the groups at each point, Mr Emorh appreciated their patience and compliance to the sit -at -home directive by the state government and urged them not to relax their guard but to continue with the laid-down directives of regular hand washing, maintaining social distance, using hand sanitisers and above all staying at home only to come out when it becomes absolutely necessary.
Mr Emorh thanked especially, Governor Willie Obiano for being proactive as he said that Anambra state has the least or no presence of Covid-19 cases largely to the efforts of the government.
He also commended the state government for kicking off the palliative measures by giving food items to the elderly and to the youths as he said that the consignment of the four hundred bags of rice given to Nsugbe Youths yesterday ,will go a long way in alleviating the plight of the people.
The President General of the community, Comrade Ossy Nwoye, was full of praises to Mr Emorh saying that they have never seen such in the community, even as he applauded Governor Obiano for giving six hundred bags of rice to ndi Nsugbe, two hundred bags for the elderly , and four hundred bags for the youth which he personally took delivery of.
In a speech, Chief Ifeanyi Tagbo on behalf of the oldest man in the community, Chief Arinze Obiagwu , and the entire Ndi Ezeh Nsugbe, prayed for more success and long life upon Mr Emorh and his family.
Other beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of women of the community Mrs, Stella Nwoye and Ejima Uchaa, expressed profound gratitude to their benefactor and prayed God to bless him abundantly.
