The Civil Society Network in Anambra State has expanded the campaign against the coronavirus to Communities.
The Network targets Persons with Disabilities, youths, the elderly and women in all the Communities visited including Egbengwu village Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area, Nkwere village Umunnachi, Etiti village Ukwulu and Nawgu all in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
The Anambra Civil Society COVID-19 Network commenced the aggressive enlightenment campaign as part of measures aimed at ensuring that all categories of people in the society are properly informed about the devastating effect of coronavirus pandemic including its symptoms.
According to the Anambra State President of the Association, Prince Chris Azor, the campaign became necessary as the society’s membership cut across all strata of the society including People with
disabilities, the uneducated and less privileged persons among others.
Prince Azor regretted that many people in the society still lack the basic knowledge of COVID-19.
Contributing, a member of the organization, Mrs Tina Igbasi reminded women that the period is a time to strongly hold on to family planning in addition to ensuring close monitoring of their children and wards.
In appreciation, the Wife of the traditional ruler of Nawgu, Mrs Ndidika Okaa-Onuogu, Mr Jude Atupuluazi from Nimo and a physically challenged person, Mr. Anaike Okeke, thanked the group for the campaign.
