All teachers in Anambra State have been mandated to ensure that their
students and pupils wear face masks as soon as academic learning
commences in the state.

The Commissioner for Education, Professor Kate Omenugha who made this
known in an ABS audience participatory programme, “Nzuko Anambra” said
any student who does not adhere to the rule will be sent out of the
school premises and would not be allowed to learn.

Speaking on the title “Education in Anambra, Post Covid-19”,
Commissioner Omenugha, emphasized that technology has made
communication and teaching process easy for everyone both in urban and
rural areas and urged teachers and students to utilize the technology
equipment at their disposal for proper learn advancement.

She reiterated that every teacher is expected to have at least Android
phones and laptops for enhancing and widening their horizons of
learning regretting that Coronavirus Pandemic has denied over one
point Six billion people access to quality education.

Commissioner Omenugha further called on Ndi Anambra to key into the
Anambra teaching on air programme, and commended those who
contributed to the successful teaching on air including the Ministry
of Education, the Managing Director ABS, Chief Uche Nworah and
Governor Willie Obiano whom she said has passion for
promoting education in the state.

Some Callers to the programme said they were highly impressed with the
level of intellectual impact the programme has inculcated to their
children and lauded such initiative.
