The Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency has embarked on a sensitization campaign at various markets in Awka South Council Area as part of measures to create awareness on Coronavirus pandemic.

Onyinye Agubaeze reportd that the Anambra Primary Health Care Development Agency, visited Eke Amwabia and Afor Mbaukwu market were they sensitized the public on the threat posed by the coronavirus and how to contain the spread through washing of hands, application of sanitizers and the need to maintain social distancing .

Speaking on the exercise, the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Chioma Ezenyimulu said that as Anambra State is easing the lockdown, the aim of the sensitization was to create awareness especially at the grass root level about the Coronavirus pandemic and to encourage the populace to ignore the rumour about coronavirus vaccine being distributed in the State but make their children and wards available for necessary vaccination against other deadly diseases.

Also speaking the Deputy Director Nursing and Officer in charge of Maternal and Child Health Centre, Amwabia, Mrs Ifeyinwa Anigbogu, who demonstrated to the traders the proper washing of hand routine said that the hygienic practice also helps prevent other illnesses.
In her reaction, Mrs Stella Edimelu a trader extolled the effort of the Anambra State Government towards controling the spread of the Covid-19, promising to keep up with the practice.
