In a bid to maintain peaceful atmosphere in Anambra state, the state government has directed that no settlement of non-indigenous should be
attacked by anybody or group of persons in the state.

A release by the Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government,
Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Chief Greg Obi said that the
settlers including Northerners should not be attacked.

The release on behalf of the Commissioner was signed by comrade Henry
Nwasike urged the people to report any abnormal situations to the
traditional ruler, President General or security Agencies in their
area for proper handling by the state, warning that nobody should take
laws into their hands.
