Youth and Sports Development Minister, Mr Sunday Dare, has reminded Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr that Nigerians expect much from him following the new contract he got recently from the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

The minister, who said he was not reluctant to the contract extension, insisted that Nigerians must get results if the German coach must stay as the country’s head football coach.

Mr Dare said the Nigeria Football Federation, is statutorily in charge of the growth and development of football in Nigeria under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and warned that it would not be business as usual, insisting that the coach would be held to a higher depth of responsibility, where he could have his contract reviewed if he fell short of the direction outlined in the terms of his contract.

Also speaking on Rohr’s new deal, former Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Joe Erico, said the target the NFF set for Rohr, including to win the Cameroun 2021 Africa Nations Cup, is attainable if the team can work hard for it.
