Over One hundred and fifty indigent widows, aged men and women of Awgbu Community in Orumba North council area have benefited from the Uzokamma Foundation COVID-19 relief support.
The gesture which was geared towards” supporting the state governments effort in mitigating the harsh economic effect of COVID-19 pandemic, saw the targeted beneficiaries smile home with food items and COVID-19 preventive materials.
Uzokamma Foundation is a charity based organization founded by an Industrious son of Awgbu community, Mr. ThankGod Ibeh, to touch lives within the community and beyond positively.
Addressing the gathering shortly before distributing the items in his country home, Awgbu, the Founder of the foundation, Mr. Ibeh who stressed the need for them to abide by the COVID-19 preventive guidelines, pledged more intervention all through period of the pandemic.
He reminded them of the importance of the cottage farming as introduced by the state government, urging them to key into the initiative.
He assured to always support the brilliant innovations and developmental ideas of the state government, restates that the interest of the citizenry remains his priority.
Appreciating the benefactor, some of the widows and aged women including, Mrs. Benedeth Okeke-Izuakor, Mrs. Maria Onyeaka and Mrs. Patricia Ubah while expressing their joy, prayed God to bless him abundantly.
Among the items distributed include, one hundred and fifty bags of rice, one hundred and fifty cartons of noodles, cartons of tin tomatoes and cash gift.
